We received year-end gifts, and Dr. Ayami Matsushima will go to the Salk Institute.

We received year-end gifts from graduating seniors. We enjoyed a Christmas party with apple cider and food and cakes made by Dr. Matsushima, in addition to the fine ham and stylish sweets we received. It was a precious day to reflect on the past year.

In January and February, Dr. Matsushima will visit the Salk Institute in the U.S. for the Kyushu University Diversity Super Global Teacher Training Program (SentanQ). We hope that he will challenge himself with cutting-edge research and return home empowered!

Participated in the 25th Joint Seminar of the Busan Branch of the Korean Chemical Society and Kyushu Branch of the Chemical Society of Japan.

The 25th Joint Seminar of the Busan Branch of the Korean Chemical Society and Kyushu Branch of the Chemical Society of Japan was held at Pusan National University (Pusan, Korea). Kota Aramaki, a first-year master’s student, presented “Valuation of ERα-ERRα synergistic transcriptional activation using reporter constructs containing estrogen response elements He made a poster presentation titled “Valuation of ERα-ERRα synergistic transcriptional activation using reporter constructs containing estrogen response elements connected by different numbers of nucleotide linkers. She was very nervous because it was her first international conference. He asked us many questions and gave us advice, which was very informative.

11. 8.-11. 10. 2023

Participated in The 60th Peptide Symposium

The 60th Peptide Symposium took place at Biwako Hall in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Kota Aramaki, a first-year master’s student, presented “Evaluation of ERα-ERRα Synergistic Transcriptional Activation” using reporter constructs containing estrogen response elements. Keita Nakamura gave a poster presentation entitled “Estrogen Receptor Transcriptional Activity Induced by a Putative Estrogen-Responsive Region in Close Proximity to the Enkephalin Gene.” The conference was conducted in English, and both presenters, being their first poster presentation in English, felt nervous. However, they engaged in discussions with various participants and found the experience to be highly stimulating.

We received mid-year gifts.

We received mid-year gifts from our graduating seniors. We were all delighted by the wonderful gifts, including many confectionery items and high quality ham. The ham was baked in the lab’s oven and everyone enjoyed it very much. We will continue to work hard together to cherish the various milestones while responding to the ever-changing situation as flexibly as a young bamboo. We would be very happy to receive your continued support. Thank you very much for your continued support.
